Things that suck...and things that don't

This is the second time I'm typing this. I stooooopidly did something stoopid and now I'm doing this again. Don't ask... -whine-

So wat sucks?

1. Debts - Credit card bill to be exact.
2. Work -bah-
3. No money
4. Assignment - it's due on TWO weeks and I haven't even started. I'm not joking.
5. Meimei's going home! My last entry was about her coming home. she's leaving this Saturday. -whine again-

I bought a new HP the other day. I'm supposed to be broke so Mummy's not going to know about it, at least not for the next week or so. heh It's a nice cool black little Motorola E398. It's got an MP3 player, camera, bluetooth etc. My hubby decided to get it too so we traded in 3 phones for 2. The 3 phones pretty much paid for 1 new one. :)

China was great, living the expat life. Never imagined I had to go all the way to shanghai to get my first taste of Paulaner Brahaus. Beer was yummy. We had beer at almost every meal coz it's cheap over there. My beer belly's much bigger now, no thanks to beer and good food. But I'm happy.

Shopping was great, especially at Xiangyang market. For those who are going to Shanghai, DO NOT miss that place. It's got every kind of imitation good you can think of. Some look quite good actually. You can cut the price down to more 40% off the opening price. If you think that we are good at haggling, wait till you see the angmohs. They are even better.

Art of Chinese Haggling 101

Me: How much is this bag ah?
Shopkeeper: RMB 350
Me: Wat? So expensive ah? Dowan lah
Shopkeeper: I give you RMB 320. Best price.
Me: No dowan. (gets ready to leave)
Shopkeeper: Urm... wait. How much are you willing to pay?
Me: I give you a price. You don't get angry ok?
Shopkeeper: Sure! No problem!
Me: RMB 50.
Shopkeeper: Cannot lah, hard for me leh. I hardly earn! RMB 300 can?
Me: How about RMB 80?
Shopkeeper: No no cannot. -shake head-
Me: Cannot arh? Cannot then dowan lor... (steps out of shop, walking REAL slow)
Shopkeeper: Wait wait WAAAAAIT!!!! Come back! (waves wildly)
Me: (stop walking, turns around)
Shopkeeper: Ok lah come back! I sell you... Only for you ok? Next time must come back k?
Me: Sure! -Big GRIN- heh

For more reflections on China, Su Ee pretty much sums it up. (see right)

Till next time! Need to get started on assignment. -bah-
